essay of class 7

By seventh grade, students should be refining the core writing skills of brainstorming , researching, outlining, drafting, and revising. In order to hone these skills, seventh-grade students need regular practice writing a variety of essay styles, including narrative, persuasive, expository , and creative essays. The following essay prompts offer age-appropriate starting points to help seventh graders flex their writing muscles.

Narrative Essay Writing Prompts

Narrative essays share a personal experience to tell a story, usually to make a point rather than merely to entertain. These narrative essay prompts encourage students to describe and reflect on a story that's meaningful to them.

  • Embarrassing Pasts - As people get older, they are sometimes embarrassed by things they used to like, such as toys, television shows, or nicknames. Describe something that you used to enjoy that you now find embarrassing. Why is it embarrassing now?
  • Bonds of Hardship - Sometimes difficulties draw families closer. Describe something that your family endured together that strengthened your relationships.
  • There’s No Place Like Home - What makes your hometown special? Explain this special quality.
  • New Kid in Town - Being new to a town or school can be challenging because you don’t know anyone, or exciting because no one knows you and your past. Describe a time when you were the new kid.
  • Finders Keepers -  Write about a time when you lost (or found) something of value. How did that experience affect your opinion of the saying, “Finders keepers; losers weepers?"
  • Follow the Leader -  Describe a time when you were in a leadership role. How did it make you feel? What did you learn from the experience?
  • April Fools -  Write about the best prank you’ve ever played on someone (or had played on you). What made it so clever or funny?
  • Bon Appetit - Special meals can be powerful memory-makers. Write about a specific meal that stands out in your memory. What made it so unforgettable?
  • Bon Voyage - Family trips and vacations also create lasting memories. Write an essay detailing your favorite family vacation memory.
  • Batter Up -  Write about a valuable lesson that you learned while playing your favorite sport.
  • Best Friends Forever -  Describe your friendship with your BFF and what makes it so important to you.
  • The Real Me -  What is one thing you wish your parents, teachers, or coaches really understood or knew about you?
  • TV -  Explain what makes your favorite television show so enjoyable or relatable to you.

Persuasive Essay Writing Prompts

Persuasive essays use facts and reasoning to convince the reader to embrace the writer’s opinion or take a course of action. These essay prompts empower seventh graders to write persuasively about an issue they genuinely care about.

  • Outdated Laws - What is one law or family or school rule that you think needs to be changed? Convince lawmakers, your parents, or school leaders to make the change.
  • Bad Ads - Advertising can have a powerful impact on consumers. What is a product that you’ve seen advertised that you don’t think should be? Explain why the media should quit showing these ads.
  • Puppy Love - You want a pet, but your parents don’t think you need one. What would you say to change their minds?
  • Lights, Camera - What is your favorite book of all time? Write an essay convincing a producer to make a movie about it.
  • Snooze Button - Studies have shown that tweens and teens need more sleep. Write a proposal for a later school start time.
  • Body Shop - Magazines can negatively impact their readers’ body image by using edited images of models. Convince a teen magazine publisher that they should not use heavily-edited model images in their publication.
  • It Can’t Be Over - The network is canceling your favorite television show. Write a paper convincing the station that they’re making a mistake.
  • Curfews -  Some malls have policies forbidding kids under 18 to be at the mall without adult supervision during certain times. Do you think this is fair or unfair? Defend your position.
  • Team Spirit - Should homeschooled students be allowed to play sports on public or private school teams? Why or why not?
  • Smartphones - All of your friends have the latest smartphone, but you only have a “dumb phone.” Should your parents upgrade your phone, or are smartphones for middle school kids a bad idea?
  • Bullies - Some dogs, such as pit bulls or Dobermans, are labeled “bully breeds.” Is this label deserved or undeserved?
  • Money Can’t Buy You Love - People say that money can’t buy happiness, but some studies have shown that people with higher incomes may be happier . Do you think this is true? Why or why not?
  • Ratings -  There are age restrictions on movies and video games, ratings on television shows, and warning labels on music. Computers and smartphones offer parental controls. Do adults have too much control over what kids watch and listen to or do these restrictions serve a valuable purpose?

Expository Essay Writing Prompts

Descriptive Writing Topics For Class 7 Format, Examples, Exercises

Descriptive writing is a style of writing that paints a vivid picture of a person, place, or thing in the reader’s mind. It appeals to the five senses – sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch – to create a sensory experience for the reader. In Class 7, students can improve their descriptive writing skills by practicing writing on a variety of topics.

Format Of Descriptive Writing Topics For Class 7:

Before we get into the examples and topics, let’s discuss the format of descriptive writing. The format of descriptive writing usually follows this structure:

1. Introduction: In the introduction, the writer introduces the subject of the writing and provides some background information about it. 2. Body Paragraphs: The body paragraphs provide detailed descriptions of the subject. The writer should use sensory details and vivid language to help the reader visualize the subject. 3. Conclusion: The conclusion wraps up the writing and leaves the reader with a lasting impression.

Introduction: A beach is a place that is loved by many. It is a place where you can relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.

Body Paragraphs: The sand is warm and soft under your feet, and the water is crystal clear. As you walk along the beach, you can feel the warm sun on your skin and hear the seagulls calling out to each other. The smell of saltwater and sunscreen fills the air, and you can taste the salt in the air on your lips. In the distance, you can see sailboats and parasailers gliding across the water.

Conclusion: The beach is a beautiful and peaceful place that can make you forget about your worries and just enjoy the moment.

Internet Essay

Internet essay in english for class 7 students.

Vedantu knows the very fact that computers are introduced to students at a very tender age. And, by the time these students reach Class 7, they are fine-tuned with the usage of both computers as well as the internet. Now, Vedantu was about to prepare an essay on the internet for the students of grade 7. Right from that moment, our research started on how the plotting of the entire essay will be done. Then, the conclusion was in front of our digital team that these students must be educated with all the pointers but yes, the selection of language will be according to their grade and age. It was planned to make them informed about the internet application in different fields. They must be aware of the areas such as education, commerce, entertainment, games, research, shopping, science, advertising, social media, and much more.

Let’s take a Glimpse at the Draft of the Essay prepared by the Vedantu’s Teachers

The essay on “the Internet”, has been drafted by our mentors at Vedantu to help you experience it more helpfully. These are inducted in a very structured and organized way for you to grasp the main features quickly. You can also download the essay which is available in PDF format. You can go through the essay and get in touch with them directly by visiting Vedantu's official website to clear all your doubts or concerns.

“I am very much excited about having the internet in my den” These words of the legend Steve Jobs inspired many new entrepreneurs to stick with the internet. In 1973, the United States Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency linked research facilities and universities within the U.S. later on. In 1983 the internet was released to the entire world. We must not misguide ourselves, the internet and network are the same terminologies. The internet is a type of network. ‘The net’ is a popular nickname for the internet. Some people even used to call it ‘networks of the network’. Information, sending mails, live video callings and messages became easier with this electronic vehicle. The internet has brought the world closer together. The Internet is a means of connecting computers to any other electronic smart device anywhere in the world via servers and routers. Billions of physical electronic devices around the world are sharing and collecting data are connected with the help of the internet. This is known as the ‘Internet of Things’. Light Bulbs that can be easily switched off using a Smartphone from a distance is the best example of Iot.

The mention of new technologies such as the internet of things, wearables, smart cars, and ways with which our computers and home devices are connected will grab more attention of the grade 7 students. They are in the learning phase and they are more curious to know regarding all these smart actions than the students who have already gained knowledge about these things. This is their keen interest that will encourage them to learn and write a wonderful essay on the internet. Vedantu tutors have primarily considered the ease of language for the students of Class 7 so that they can grab well as well as score high.

The Internet is a highway of education. It is beneficial for students in primary schools to the philosophers. The Internet plays a library role by providing daily updates, references books, different approaches to reach the solutions, theories of great mathematicians and many more. The Internet could prove essential media in various daily activities. Seeking information from anywhere across the globe, conducting group activities, online transactions and uncountable tasks executed within a fraction of seconds. The Internet assists job seekers. Descriptions of various theories are simplified for innovators and explorers. Moreover, the patent filing is simplified so that it can be filed at any place, anywhere. The Internet is economically pleasant as the cost for net handling is cheaper than other communication means. All mobile companies are eager to provide internet services at the lowest possible cost. Simply typing a question on a search engine is enough; thousands of websites are opened within a blink of an eye with 3Gs and 4Gs.

This will again be an interesting topic for the students in Class 7 as it is quite fun for them to use features of the internet like artificial intelligence. They will be more interested in knowing how the use of 3 and 4G opens the websites in a fraction of seconds. Plus, Vedantu has also made them aware of the GPS services via this essay. All these things are in the trend today and this will surely help them gain their knowledge as well as their score. Not only in writing, with this material, they can also participate in different written and oral essay competitions where they are bound to gain the best due to fresh knowledge and conveying their message in a simple format.

Have you ever gone outside and surveyed the shortest route from one place to the other? You don't even need that since the internet assists you with GPS services for a convenient solution for your problem. The excellent use of the internet is done by the hostile student. Booking a ticket at zero hours is possible with desired bus services. Furthermore, they can quench their hunger by ordering food online. Furthermore, The Internet encourages promoters to enlarge their business.

The Internet is a need of an era. But, we must not neglect the second side of the coin. The internet can be as deadly as a double-edged sword. People waste their whole day on social media activities. The students are so reliant on the internet that they became too lazy to read a whole book. The world is getting closer to the internet but people are going farther.

FAQs on Internet Essay

1. Can you use up all your WiFi?

The amount of WiFi you can use depends on your broadband data allowance. If you're utilising WiFi in a public or a commonplace, you can typically use as abundant data as you require. Some areas such as hotels, charge you for WiFi access and restrict you to a particular amount of data per day. In a crux, your data requirements will be more in a big service area but if you are using it for individual usage, then you are not going to finish it in one or two days provided you are not making big downloads by using your WiFi.

2. What uses upload data?

Uploading means data is being transferred from your processor to the Internet. Examples of uploading involve sending out an email, attaching photos on a social media site and using your webcam. Even snapping on a link on a web surface sends a little data upload. Downloading means your processor is receiving data from the Internet. Now, you must be wondering that you are using it in your daily activities but you were not aware of the technical term for it. Thus, you can also make this a part of your internet essay.

3. What are the benefits of the Internet?

Entertainment

These are the few advantages of the internet but the list of its benefits is growing rapidly. From the lockdown times, the internet has also managed education as well. The kids might not be interacting and learning from their teachers without the availability of the internet. And, this has taught the kids that they need to manage their curriculum on their own.

4. What are the disadvantages of the internet?

The major disadvantage of internet usages are:

Bullying, trolls, stalkers, and crime

Pornographic and violent images

Addiction, time-waster, and causes distractions

Depression, loneliness, and social isolation.

The purpose of sharing disadvantages of the internet must be to educate the students that excess of anything is bad for them. If they use the internet, they should access their good sides and abandon the bad ones.

5. Is an essay on the Internet by Vedantu set according to the grade 7 students?

Vedantu teachers are from a specific background and they know that students of grade 7 must have learnt many technicalities about the internet. So, with the essay, Vedantu has tried to gain their knowledge regarding the trends usage of the internet such as artificial intelligence, IoT (Internet of Things), smart devices, smart cards, wearables, and much more. My daily Routine Essay In 100 – 250 Words For Class 7

Juggling the busy life of a student can be difficult, but this essay provides insight into how one tackles their daily responsibilities. From waking up with purpose to taking time for studying and other activities, take a look at what makes up an average day in the life of a student.

My Daily Routine Essay In 100 to 250 Words For Class Seven Student

1. Introduction

Keeping a structured daily routine is essential to my success as an ambitious student. Every day I devote time towards achieving productivity and staying focused on the objectives that will help me reach my goals. To ensure nothing falls through the cracks, here’s how I keep everything in balance:

2. Body Paragraphs

Every morning I set aside time to focus on my personal wellness, beginning each day with an early awakening and nourishing routine. As the sun rises, so do I; after a quick freshening up and brushing of teeth comes a revitalizing shower before settling in for breakfast – fueling up for whatever lies ahead.

after breakfast, I start my day with the anticipation of learning and growth. As 7:30 am dawns, I embark on my way to school where classes provide me opportunities for exploration as well as participation in various sports and cultural activities throughout the day. Lunchtime offers an enjoyable break spent catching up with friends over our packed meals!

After a long day of classes, I ensure to reward myself with some much-deserved relaxation. Whether that’s indulging in my favorite TV show or simply curling up with an interesting book, these moments are invaluable for recharging and rejuvenating the mind. With this said though, it also helps immensely to keep a healthy balance between downtime activities and studious efforts; something which is fundamental in order to achieve success at school.

In the evenings, my family and I come together to enjoy a hearty meal before engaging in stimulating extracurricular activities. From playing sports to learning new skills, we make sure that every night has something exciting. Moreover, I take care of physical wellness through exercise or meditation – an important part of keeping both mind and body healthy!

To wrap up another day, I treat myself to a soothing shower and then take proper care of my oral hygiene. After donning cozy sleepwear, I give in to the sweet embrace of music or literature before slipping into bed for a peaceful night’s rest.

3. Conclusion

Achieving success as a student requires discipline and dedication. My daily routine is essential in helping me maintain focus on my objectives, while also allowing for time to relax with family or partake in activities that I enjoy. It keeps me going; giving me the motivation, organization and vitality necessary to successfully meet each day’s demands.

Exclusive: Photo Essay — Kamala Harris’s ‘Middle-Class’ Upbringing in Westmount, Canada

Now that she is running for president in a political moment when victimhood is currency, Vice President Kamala Harris paints herself as being brought up on the “streets” — complete with fake accents as part of her bit.

However, unfortunately for that narrative, the politics editor at Breitbart News (me) happens to have grown up in the same neighborhood Harris lived in from when she was 12 to 18 and can report that calling herself “middle class” is definitely a stretch.

On Labor Day, Harris put on one of her myriad fake dialects to address a working-class crowd in Detroit, Michigan.

However, it is virtually impossible for Harris to have organically adopted that accent — or “code switch,” as the propagandists at the Associated Press refer to it — given that not only did she not grow up anywhere near the working class, she actually grew up in one of the most upscale enclaves in Canada, a commonwealth nation with distinctly non-American English.

When Harris was 12, she left Berkeley after her mother was  hired  to work with McGill University, doing breast cancer research at Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital — the hospital in which I was born. Local doctors described her mother as a “pioneer.”

The neighborhood Harris grew up in is called Westmount, a majority-English neighborhood in the French province of Quebec.

She would have definitely experienced segregation living there but not the kind she has claimed in the last few years to have lived through in her bizarre, obviously mostly-made-up origin story in which she claims to have been of a modest background and somehow had some sort of involvement with the civil rights movement.

There is no racial hostility in Montreal. Some racial political discourse has been imported from America in more recent years, but that would not really be a part of the cultural awareness or experience of someone who stopped living there before 2020.

Montreal is actually a “melting pot” in terms of racial and ethnic diversity and has always had a unique ability to accept immigrants of all backgrounds, races, and religions while maintaining its French culture due to a series of language and culture laws it began implementing in the 1970s.

In a story about Harris’s roots and personal experience, the only segregation she would have experienced would be economic segregation, as Montreal is the most economically segregated city in Canada,  according  to a study from the University of Toronto.

And, in that city, Harris grew up in the poshest neighborhood, which, at the time she lived there, was not only the  nicest neighborhood  in Montreal but was the  richest  one in all of Canada — far from the struggle of the “streets” Harris now purports to have been down with.

According to an op-ed that her best friend from her time at Westmount High School penned , Harris lived with her mother and sister Maya on Grosvenor Avenue in a Victorian home. As her friend explains, Harris enjoyed “family dinners and a stable life.”

This is the street Harris grew up on. These homes list for, minimum, more than $1-2 million CAD (~$750,000-$1.5 million USD):

That tracks with most people’s lifestyles in that neighborhood. It is one of the luckiest places someone could live. Harris implying that it is the “streets” is an ironic joke many who grow up there make.

This is the main street crossing through the middle of the neighborhood, an avenue that bears the same name:

This is the street, Redfern Ave., that Harris’s high school is on the corner of:

This is the library at the edge of Westmount Park, where she could have studied or borrowed books and would have walked by to get to and from home and school each day:

This is where Harris would have spent time and where many or most of her classmates lived:

Harris has contrived a persona and has heralded policies based on what is politically convenient at any given moment to exploit opportunities for herself to get ahead, and it has kind of worked (so far). Extremely fortunately for her, she has found herself running for president in a moment when the media and elites are at their absolute dumbest and laziest, won’t bother to analyze policy, and, instead, sum up a candidate’s entire identity and worldview solely on physical traits, like race. So, she takes advantage of this moment — using her race as some sort of tool to give the opposite impression of the immense privilege (as you can see) she really comes from and deflecting from her lack of connection to or solutions for the real working class.

There is nothing wrong with being from this neighborhood, as you can see. It is beautiful. The people are happy. It is safe and a wonderful place to grow up. However, Harris’s “lower-middle class” pandering bit does not work.

Time for a new bit.

  • The real problem with China’s economy

The country risks making some of the mistakes the Soviet Union did

A reflected image of The Forbidden City in Beijing

Your browser does not support the <audio> element.

C hina’S giant economy faces an equally giant crisis of confidence—and a growing deficit of accurate information is only making things worse. Even as the country wrestles with a property crash, the services sector slowed by one measure in August. Consumers are fed up. Multinational firms are taking money out of China at a record pace and foreign China-watchers are trimming their forecasts for economic growth.

The gloom reflects real problems, from half-built houses to bad debts. But it also reflects growing mistrust of information about China. The government is widely believed to be massaging data, suppressing sensitive facts and sometimes offering delusional prescriptions for the economy. This void feeds on itself: the more fragile the economy is, the more knowledge is suppressed and the more nerves fray. This is not just a cyclical problem of confidence . By backtracking on the decades-long policy of partially liberalising the flow of information, China will find it harder to complete its ambition of restructuring the economy around new industries. Like the Soviet Union, it risks instead becoming an example of how autocratic rule is not just illiberal but also inefficient.

The tightening of censorship under President Xi Jinping is well known. Social-media accounts are ever more strictly policed. Officials are warier of candid debate with outsiders. Scholars fear they are watched and business people mouth Communist Party slogans. Less familiar is the parallel disappearance of technical data, especially if it is awkward or embarrassing for the party. Figures for youth unemployment, a huge problem, have been “improved and optimised”—and lowered. Balance-of-payments statistics have become so murky that even America’s Treasury is baffled. On August 19th stock exchanges stopped publishing daily numbers on dwindling foreign-investment inflows. As the economic dashboard dims , the private sector is finding it harder to make good decisions. Officials probably are, too.

To understand the significance of this shift, look back to the mid-20th century. Witnessing the totalitarianism of the 1930s and 1940s, liberal thinkers such as Karl Popper and Friedrich Hayek argued that political freedom and economic success go hand in hand: decentralised power and information prevent tyranny and allow millions of firms and consumers to make better decisions and live better lives. The collapse of the Soviet Union proved them right. In order to maintain political dominance, its rulers ruthlessly controlled information. But that required brutal repression, starved the economy of price signals and created an edifice of lies. By the end, even the Soviet leadership was deprived of an accurate picture.

As China grew more open in the late 1990s and 2000s, its leaders hoped to maintain control while avoiding the Soviet Union’s mistakes. For many years they allowed technical information in business, the economy and science to flow far more freely. Think of Chinese firms with listed share prices disclosing information to investors in New York, or scientists sharing new research with groups abroad. Technology seemed to offer a more surgical way to censor mass opinion. The internet was intensively policed, but it was not banned.

China’s top leadership also redoubled its efforts to know what was going on. For decades, it has run a system known as neican , or internal reference, in which journalists and officials compile private reports. During the Tiananmen Square protests, for example, the leadership received constant updates. Techno-utopian party loyalists reckoned that big data and artificial intelligence could improve this system, creating a high-tech panopticon for the supreme leader that would allow the kind of enlightened central planning the Soviets failed at.

It is this vision of a partially open, hyper-efficient China that is now in doubt. Amid a widening culture of fear and a determination to put national security before the economy, the party has proved unable or unwilling to limit the scope of its interference in information flows. Monetary-policy documents and the annual reports of China’s mega-banks now invoke Xi Jinping Thought. Deadly-dull foreign management consultants are treated as spies. This is happening despite the fact that China’s increasingly sophisticated economy requires more fluid and complex decision-making.

An obvious result is the retreat of individual liberty. In a reversal of its partial opening, China has become a more repressive place . Many Chinese still have liberal views and enjoy debate but stick to private gatherings. They present no immediate danger to the party.

The information void’s other effects pose more of a threat. As price signals dim, the allocation of capital is getting harder. This comes at a delicate moment. As its workforce shrinks, China must rely more on boosting productivity to grow. That is all about using resources well. The country needs to pivot away from cheap credit and construction to innovative industries and supplying consumers. That is why capital spending is pouring into electric vehicles, semiconductors and more. Yet if investment is based on erroneous calculations of demand and supply, or if data on subsidies and profits are suppressed, then the odds of a successful transition are low.

China’s admirers might retort that the country’s key decision-makers still have good information with which to steer the economy. But nobody really knows what data and reports Mr Xi sees. Moreover, as the public square empties it is a good bet that the flow of private information is becoming more distorted and less subject to scrutiny. No one wants to sign a memo that says one of Mr Xi’s signature policies is failing.

After the horrors of the mid-20th century, liberal thinkers understood that free-flowing information improves decision-making, reduces the odds of grave mistakes and makes it easier for societies to evolve. But when information is suppressed, it turns into a source of power and corruption. Over time, the distortions and inefficiencies mount. China has big opportunities but it also faces immense problems. A fully informed citizenry, private sector and government would be far better equipped to take on the challenges ahead. ■

Essay on My Best Friend for Students and Children

500+ words essay on my best friend.

Friendship is one of the greatest blessings that not everyone is lucky enough to have. We meet a lot of people in the journey of life but there are only a few who leave a mark on us. My best friend is one such person who has been able to make a positive impact on my life. We have been a part of each other’s lives for the longest time and our friendship is still developing. She has been with me through all the thicks and thins. Most importantly, I feel extremely fortunate to have someone as a best friend in my life. In this essay on my best friend, I will tell you about how we became friends and about her best qualities.

Essay on my best friend

Our Friendship

Our friendship started when my best friend came in as a new admission to our class. Both of us were hesitant to talk to each other at first, but gradually we developed a bond. I remember the first time my best friend tried to talk to me; I rolled my eyes because I thought there was no use and we wouldn’t hit it off. However, to my surprise, we became best friends by the end of the session year.

We learned so many things about each other and found out that our taste in music and fashion was so similar. Since then, there was no stopping us. We spent all our time together and our friendship became the talk of the class. We used to help each other out in studies and visited each other’s homes as well. We made sure to have lunch together on Sundays. We also used to watch movies and cartoons together.

On our summer break, we even went to summer camp together and made a lot of memories. Once during the summer holidays, she also accompanied me to my maternal grandparents’ home. We had a fabulous time there. Moreover, we even invented our own handshake which only both of us knew. Through this bond, I learned that family doesn’t end with blood because my best friend was no less than my family. Friendship is one relationship that you choose, unlike all other relationships.

Qualities of My Best Friend

I feel one of the main reasons why I formed such a bond with my best friend was because of the qualities she possesses. Her courage always inspired me to raise my voice against injustice as she always stood up to her bullies. She is also one of the smartest minds in class who doesn’t only excel academically but also in life. I have never seen a dancer as good as my best friend, the accolades she has won are proof of her talent.

Above all, I feel the quality that appeals to me the most is her compassion . Whether it’s towards humans or animals, she always keeps the same approach. For instance, there was an injured stray dog that was wailing in pain, my best friend did not only get him treated but she also adopted him.

Similarly, she saw a poor old woman on the streets one day and she only had money for her lunch. My best friend did not hesitate once before giving all of it to the poor lady. That incident made me respect her even more and inspired me to help the underprivileged more often.
