It was a cloudy day when I took my first step into the compound of my school. I was carrying a new backpack that was filled with notebooks. Though the backpack was a bit heavy, instead of focusing on the weight, I was excited about the beginning of my journey on my first day in school.

My classroom was at the end of the corridor. As I entered my classroom, my class teacher introduced me to the class and made me feel welcome. Activities like reading, solving problems in groups, and sharing our lunch boxes slowly and steadily transformed the new student with a sense of belonging.

The whole day progressed with mixed excitement as well as emotions. As the bell rang, declaring the end of the school day, the school felt like a world of possibilities where the journey was more than textbooks.

It was a sunny day and the sun was shining brightly. With my new and attractive backpack, I was moving through the school gate. It was my first day in school and I was filled with nervousness and excitement. From the tower of the building to the playground everything was bigger than life. The corridor was filled with the echo of students. As I entered the classroom, wearing a mix of curiosity and excitement, my classmates and class teacher welcomed me with a warm smile. My first day in school started by stepping onto the school bus with a bag full of books and a heart full of curiosity. It was like I was starting a new chapter in my life. After travelling a long way back, I stepped at the gate of my school. The school gate welcomed me with open arms and greeted me with a sense of excitement as well as nervousness.

As I entered the classroom, I found many new faces. Arranging my stuff on the seat, I sat next to an unknown, who later on turned into the best friend of my life. I entered my class with a welcoming smile, and later on, I turned everything in with ease. During our lunchtime, the cafeteria was filled with the energy of students. 

At first, I hesitated to interact with the children, but later on, I was a part of a group that invited me to join the table. At lunchtime, I made many new friends and was no longer a stranger. After having delicious food and chit-chatting with friends, we get back to our respective classrooms. Different subjects such as mathematics, science, and English never left the same impact as they did on the first day of school. 

The teacher taught the lessons so interestingly that we learned the chapter with a mix of laughter and learning. At the end of the day, we all went straight to the playground and enjoyed the swings. Moreover, in the playground, I also met many faces who were new to the school and had their first day in school, like me.

While returning home, I realised that my first day was not just about learning new subjects; it was about making new friends, sailing into new vibrant classrooms, and settling myself as a new student. The morning, which was full of uncertainty at the end of the day, came to an end with exciting adventures and endless possibilities. With new experiences, I look forward to new academic and personal growth in the wonderful world of education.

A school is a place where people learn the fundamental of life and do study. School is something a temple for those who want to study in their life. I am a student and I do study in government school. It is quite far from mu home. It is located in Lahore, Sadar Baraz. I go to school along with my friend. I always like to go to school as I know that it is the only way to serve our country, our parents and our new generation which will come after us. My school is the most famous school of the city. My school has two stories building having hundreds of class rooms for nursery to 10th standard.

There are five play grounds in our school including cricket, badminton, hockey, foot ball and one for other students who are not the member of any team. At the time of half break, every student go to play ground to play different games. I am the member of my school cricket team so at the break time I go to practice mood. Our coach teaches us brilliantly that is last time we were the champion of the city and we won from almost all schools where I did good in batting.

Our principal if has given us more opportunities to make our self fresh in break time while playing but he is very strict in discipline. No one is allowed to make noise otherwise that student will face punishment. Our all teachers are kind and teach us brilliantly. They teach us in such good way that every one enjoy the study time and no one go on leave until anyone has serious issue. The Olympics opened in Paris a week ago, but neither the men’s nor women’s U.S. soccer teams have seen the Eiffel Tower yet. That could change this weekend when both come to the French capital for quarterfinal matches, the men with Morocco on Friday and the women against Japan on Saturday.

For the men, playing in the Olympic tournament for the first time in 16 years, the trip to the knockout round is just their second since 1956 — before the Olympics became an age-group tournament — while their two wins is already the most ever in the Summer Games.

“They are a very, very good group. A group that has amazing connections between them,” coach Marko Mitrovic said. “It’s a pleasure to work with them every day. They are so mature. We have a lot of fun, but when it comes to the field they are ready to go full, full.”

The Olympic soccer tournament is a U-23 competition on the men’s side, meaning that the 18-man roster is limited to players born on or after Jan. 1, 2001. The country is on another historic run in Paris with its two wins here — over Argentina and Iraq — matching its total from its other seven Olympic appearances combined.

Friday’s match will mark Morocco’s first in the quarterfinals.

The U.S. women, four-time Olympic champions, have never failed to reach the quarterfinals of their tournament. But they’ve won just one bronze medal in the last 12 years, their longest title drought.

In France she has keyed a deep attack that leads the tournament in goals, with five players contributing to the scoring.

“We all open each other up,” said Sophia Smith, who has one of those goals. “We all do things that draw defenders in and opens up spaces for each other. I assume it’s probably hard as an opponent to defend a team that has multiple attacking threats in different ways and who bring unique things to the game.

“Obviously we missed Mal so much. She’s just an incredible player. She just brings the energy to this team that we’ve been missing. Mal is a huge piece for us.”

How Did the Park Fire Get So Big, So Fast?

The blaze, now the fifth-largest in state history, has been fed by exceptionally dry vegetation following more than a month of extreme heat in California.

The Park fire, which started on July 24 near Chico, Calif., quadrupled in size within just a few days. It now covers an area more than 12 times the size of San Francisco. On Tuesday, it became the fifth-largest blaze in California history.

The fire has destroyed at least 192 structures , with 4,200 more threatened, Cal Fire said. Thousands of people are under evacuation orders.

Extreme heat in June and July was the most likely cause of the fire’s rapid growth, said Park Williams, a professor of geography at the University of California, Los Angeles. “It’s the record-breaking hot and dry weather that’s singed the fuels and made them as ready to burn as they could possibly be,” Dr. Williams said.

Heat has been breaking records all summer, and Dr. Williams said records will probably continue to fall over the next several years as the burning of fossil fuels continues to add greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.

July 22, two days before the fire began, was Earth’s hottest day on record . June was the 13th consecutive month to break a global heat record. Some areas burned by the Park fire saw their single-hottest 30-day periods on record just before the blaze broke out.

Dr. Williams compared the dry conditions to those preceding California’s second-largest wildfire , the 2021 Dixie fire, which began during a drought and burned almost one million acres. The state has since emerged from drought, which makes the heat’s effect on fuels even more notable, he said.\
