Studying a Unisa short course is a great way to increase your knowledge and broaden your skillset in a wide range of subject areas. Here are seven key benefits to completing a short course through Unisa.

Advertisement i

Short courses are a quick way to gain quality knowledge, often without having to leave the comfort of your own home. Increasing your knowledge and broadening your skillset gives you an opportunity to further your career.

From understanding the ins and outs of computer systems to learning important leadership qualities, Unisa short courses can give you an edge in both your personal and professional life. Here are some of the main advantages of completing a short course through Unisa.

Flexible Study Options

The most notable benefit to studying a short course at Unisa is the flexibility in terms of study options, as well as when and where you study. You can choose from semester-long or self-study courses, as well as online and part-time options.

This means that you can plan for your studies to fit around your lifestyle, rather than the other way around. This then also means that you are able to balance other commitments, such as work, family life and socialising.

Affordable Tuition Fees

Unisa offers competitive tuition fees, making it an affordable option for those wanting to further their studies. Short courses are offered at a fraction of the price of full-time degrees, saving you money and allowing you to access quality education without being left with a large financial burden.

Furthermore, there are often fee exemptions or bursaries available that could significantly reduce your total costs. Affordable short courses allow you to get a quality education without breaking the bank.

Variety of Courses to Choose From

Another benefit of short courses at Unisa is variety. With over 200 short courses on offer, there’s something for everyone, including accounting and finance, entrepreneurship and business management, computing and engineering, education and teaching, humanities, law and many others.

No matter what your interests are, what skills you want to develop, or what your current career path is, you have plenty of options to choose from.

Continuous Learning

Completing a short course allows you to increase your knowledge, learn new topics and update your skills. Whether you're a recent matriculant or 30 years into your career, it is never too early or too late to keep learning. The flexibility of short courses means that you can complete it while working full-time, travelling or looking after a family.

However, short courses can simply be seen as something to do in your free time, short courses don't just need to be limited to your career. If you're open to learning and a particular course takes your interest, then why not jump at the opportunity to elevate your hobbies while simultaneously gaining valuable skills?

It Looks Good On Your CV

Whether you have a few gaps to fill on your CV or you're fresh out of high school, a short course is the perfect addition to your CV. You'll be able to display your new skills, prove you're determined to gain new ones and hopefully put them to use in the near future.
